Electronic Prescription Service (EPS)

The Practice uses the Electronic prescription service (EPS).This service gives patients the ability to sign up to a local pharmacy who will order and dispense your medication. For further information please see patient leaflet.

Repeat prescriptions

These are prescribed medicines you take regularly. Requests take a minimum of two complete working days to complete.

Repeat prescriptions can be requested by:

  • Using your online account ( registration required)
  • Returning your computer slip, marking the items you require.
  • Fax on (01767) 312568
  • The local chemist collection service – please enquire at your local pharmacy.
  • Patients aged 12-15, who require repeat prescriptions, should continue to send their repeat requests to reception.biggleswade@nhs.net

Prescription issued by a Consultant at a hospital must be obtained from the Hospital Pharmacy.

Prescriptions  are issued for one month only.

If medication was started by a Hospital  and you have exhausted your current supply, please bring in the labelled packs to the surgery to enable us to add the new item(s) correctly.

NHS charges

The current NHS prescription charge is £8.40 for each item.

If you will have to pay for 4 or more prescription items in 3 months, or more than 14 items in 12 months, you will find it cheaper to buy a Pre Payment Certificate.

The cost of these certificates has not been increased and remains at :-

3 months = £29.10      12 months = £104.00.

Payment for certificates can be made by Direct Debit or using Debit or Credit Cards.
