What is a PPG?
The PPG is an advisory group of patients who work voluntarily with the surgery, acting as ‘critical friends’ to help the practice improve its services. The Committee holds monthly meetings with surgery staff to take forward its work.
All patients of the Saffron Health Partnership are entitled to apply to be members of the Patient Participation Group (PPG), which is comprised of up to 15 volunteer patients or carers .
Our work is carried out under our agreed Terms of Reference (adopted in January 2026).
The PPG is not a forum which deals with individual agendas or personal complaints. Any personal complaints about the surgery must be made directly to the practice where they will be handled in compliance with the standardised NHS Complaints Procedure.
Whilst the PPG aims to be representative of the practice’s patients, it is recognised that the views expressed are based on Committee members’ own experiences or of experiences they have learnt about from other patients. Your thoughts and suggestions are therefore invaluable to us. Each Patient Participation Group is different, but they all have the aim of making sure that the surgery puts the patient, and improving health, at the heart of everything it does.

We are the “voice of the patient”, gathering and providing feedback to the Partnership in order to improve access to NHS Primary care. To do this, we need your help. We currently have a few vacancies, and we wish to broaden the membership so as to be more representative of the patient community.
